About Sam

My name is Sam, I am 21 years old and I am a film photographerin Southwest Florida. In 2020, specifically a couple of months before the pandemic began, I picked up a film camera and decided to mainly shoot film. I love the process of film photography from buying a rollfilm, to shooting it, and then getting that film developed.

Case Study: Sam Aime, Limerence, 2000, Port Charlotte, Florida

These two sets was shot at Doltzer beach in Charlotte Harbor Florida. These photos were of my best friend i only had one roll of film to shoot. It was dark and i had one roll of Portra 400 to shoot but i did not think these photos would come out properly. The first photo was shot under a lamppost and to my surprise i love how it came out.

The 2nd photo is really interesting because it is a double exposure, which is 2 photos in one. One half of the photo is my friend standing gazing at the peace river and the other half is him sitting down. One of my favorite photos ever. Both photos were shot on Portra 400 on my Mamiya Rb67.

Case Study:Sam Aime, Costa Rica, 2000, Jaco, Costa Rica

2021 I took a trip to Costa Rica and brought all of my cameras. In the first photo I took this in the city of Jaco on a hill when I was on my way to a beach. The scenery was really beautiful and had an amazing view of the city so I decided to capture it.

The 2nd photo was on the same hill of the first photo. A local was selling water and fruits to tourists so I took the opportunity to capture his nice truck. In the 3rd photo I made it to the beach and saw two couples parasailing and captured a beautiful moment at the right time.
